PennyPitch turned into an adventure

This one got a little bigger than a simple penny-pitch game. There is still a booth, pennies, and prizes, but now there is also a platform-game adventure attached to it. Apparently I could not leave the carnival game alone.

The Java applet has separate classes for coins, enemies, ground pieces, and level loading. The main game handles keyboard and mouse input, character pictures, jumping and attacking, and the different title, intro, adventure, and pitching phases. Level data is kept apart from the drawing code, which is much nicer than writing every platform directly into the main method.

There is music, an opening crawl, and a search for a prize of ultimate power. A fairly dramatic treatment of throwing pennies! It has been a good excuse to try animation, collisions, and breaking a larger game into smaller objects.
