Playing Flash games in Modern browsers

I found a way to play some of the old Flash games Shantell and I made! When Flash disappeared from browsers, these felt a little lost, even though I still had the files.

The trick is Ruffle, a Flash emulator written in Rust that runs in the browser through WebAssembly. I added Ruffle’s JavaScript loader to simple HTML pages around the original .swf files. No old browser or Flash plugin to install, and I didn’t have to rewrite the games!

Jayden’s Adventure

A birthday game I made for Jayden, with pirates, a treasure map, and a little spelling practice. Shantell and I had fun making a game that was just for him.

The Case of the Missing Cake

A very serious detective adventure starring Fiero and Mr. Fu. Someone has to find the cake! Looking at these pictures of our cats again might be my favorite part.

Lily’s Revenge

The sequel to The Case of the Missing Cake. Apparently one ridiculous cat adventure wasn’t enough.

Not exactly modern game graphics, but I’m pretty happy these still work. Now the kids can play them too!
