Another version of Dodge! This time I wanted to try moving the square by tilting a Windows 8 tablet. The basic idea is still the same: stay away from the bad blocks and try not to get too big.
This version uses an HTML canvas with Box2DWeb doing the collision and body simulation. The game loop aims for 60 updates a second, and the player grows as the score goes up. I gave it a changing gradient background, rotating blocks, and shadows that move with their position. Probably more decoration than a square needs, but it was fun.
The project has the WinJS app startup files as well as browser input code. Mouse and pointer movement set the target position; orientation readings supply movement and rotation for tilt control. I like being able to take the same little game and try a very different way of playing it.
